Gheel Autism Services provides community support opportunities across
North and South Dublin. This allows us to offer unique and
personalised services which are based on the choices, needs and
aspirations of the individual. The successful candidate will support
individuals who live independently from their homes and the community
in the greater South Dublin area. The successful candidate will
support and promote the development of independent living skills,
education, employment possibilities and social and leisure groups.
For this position, the successful candidate will be expected to work 3
days (**Apply on the website**.5 hours) per week across Wednesday to
Friday with the occasional Saturday. Days? work will be a mixed of
Tuesday ? Saturday or Sunday ? Thursday. This role will require
flexibility in the days worked to facilitate the needs of the persons
being supported.
There will also be a requirement to have flexibility around starting
and finishing times. However, it is envisaged the hours will be from

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR SOCIAL CARE WORKER/ AUTISM PRACTITIONER
POST:
* Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of
Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland.
* A relevant qualification received outside the State recognised by
NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award or
* Relevant third level qualification at degree level i.e. social
work, psychology, and/or allied health or a Post-graduate
qualification in Autism Studies
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THIS POST:
* At least one-year recent experience in the social care/disability
sector
* Experience of supporting individuals with a diagnosis of ASD and
knowledge of Autism
* Ability to promote independence and empowering others to learn how
? not doing it for them.
* An understanding of the New Directions Model of Service Delivery.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Full, clean drivers licence
SALARY SCALE:
* Successful candidates will be paid in line with **Apply on the
